Google Declared a Monopoly by U.S. Judge: SEO Implications

On Monday, August 5th, federal judge Amit Mehta ruled that Google is a monopolist in violation of U.S. antitrust law. It was a huge win for the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), which has filed several tech monopoly lawsuits in recent years (Amazon, Meta, and Apple are also on the chopping block). Mehta claimed that Google violated Section 2 of the Sherman Act, a law that prohibits restricting competition in the marketplace.
