I think Google, at a certain point, scanned all the books, and all those books that were scanned were used for machine learning to do things, to understand the structure of text. I actually got a copy of it when it first came out. It was one prompt on DALL-E, and then I used Canva to put some text on. James: Yes, completely.

I want to come back on the waiting to win the lottery thing because I feel that that actually has a parallel in publishing, in that people are like, oh, well, this one book, if I just get the agent, if I just get the book deal, if I just get the film deal, or the TV deal, I will make a million , and I can retire. But it's okay with me.

I have covered the topic as it relates to authors regularly since then and even written a short book on the impact of AI on authors and publishing. I write books and I record and publish audio, although I also do some professional speaking and teaching as well. There is much more at stake.
